There are many reasons why people choose filler to enhance their lip shape. Maybe you have always had narrow lips and you would like them to look slightly fuller? Or perhaps your lips have become thinner and less well defined due to smoking or normal ageing. Just as with the skin, the lips naturally lose Hyaluronic Acid and Collagen as we age, leading to diminished volume and elasticity. Lip filler in Belfast are injectable gels used to replenish lost Hyaluronic acid and plump the tissues. See Treatments for Lip Filler in Belfast.

Products such as Restylane and Juvederm closely resemble our own Hyaluronic Acid; which makes them safe, natural looking and superior to synthetic or collagen fillers. Your body will then gradually and evenly dissolve these temporary fillers over 6-12 months.

Lip Fillers can help with the following concerns:

Increase volume in naturally thin lips. Enhance lip line definition. Enhance the cupid’s bow. Reduce the appearance of smoker’s lines. Reduce the tendency for lipstick to “bleed”.

Am I a candidate for Lip filler?

Most people who opt for dermal fillers are experiencing the effects of volume loss with ageing, however people may choose to have lip fillers simply due to their personal aesthetic preference. Many people experience thinning of the lips with age, or fine and wrinkles around the mouth; they can also be treated with filler around the lip area. We are able to achieve a very natural appearance if that is your preference, with adjustments in volume and filler-type.

Prior Treatment

Tanya will carry out a medical assessment to ensure you are suitable for treatment, and discuss your aesthetic aims. We will also go through the consent form and discuss any potential side effects or complications and risks. Topical Anaesthetic will be applied for a minimum of 15 minutes prior the treatment to make the area numb.

Post Treatment

Once the treatment has been completed the results will begin to appear immediately. Everyone experiences variable amounts of swelling, and this will reduce over 1-3 days.

You should avoid touching or applying makeup on the treated area in order to prevent infection. Tanya will provide you with specific post treatment instructions that will be given to you on the day of your treatment.

Possible risks of Lip Filler

Lip injections are generally safe but, as with all procedures, there are some potential complications which Tanya will make you aware of. It is important to consult an experienced and qualified practitioner to minimise any risks.

How long do Lip Fillers last?

Lip fillers typically last 6-18 months depending on the dermal filler brand, how quickly your body breaks down the filler, your skin quality and skincare.  Lifestyle factors such as sun exposure and smoking can also affect how long the results may last.
